I currently attend Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church and have been involved with the Glory Group which serves adults with learning difficulties giving them access to accessible worship. Instep was instrumental in my journey to faith so when I heard they were in need of help led me to join the Instep Planning team which I did a few years ago. I walked into SCBC 13 years ago with no faith and no desire to find one. I was invited with my family to a nativity play. I wanted my kids to go to Sunday school as I had done, but SCBC did not allow me to drop my kids and go back to bed as my parents had done so I kept attending, but was trying not to listen. Ted asked me to come to some Instep activities and I attended at least 2 Instep weekends before I would have called myself a Christian. The weekends have been significant points in my year and my journey to faith. I have now taken up the responsibility of organising the weekends for Instep. I am now a Carer and we look after three adults with learning difficulties who live with us in a 'fostering' type of arrangement. I worked as a Civil Engineer for many years and have recently taken early retirement to concentrate on caring to which I feel called by the Lord.
I continue to try to grow in my faith and would now confidently say that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and am being baptised in March 2023.
